In our previous home, we needed a tiny side table for a small spot by the side of the sofa in our small family room. I had to dig through my older folders, to find a picture of the table sitting in it’s spot. Take a look, how there is just enough room for this table in the corner between the sofa and the fireplace.
While looking through my wood stash to make something for this corner, I came across this tray, which I don’t remember, when or where I had it from, and an older bar stool, with the damaged seat.
A match made in heaven. Oh I could use these two and have one useful item for inside the house, and two less items in my garage. Because the tray’s bottom was not thick enough, I attached a small 3/4 inch wood piece, where the tray sits on the stool.
Gave a coat of home made chalkpaint to the stool and stained and printed the tray.
After 3 coats of water based varnish, sanding lightly between each coat, I attached the tray to the base with screws from underside. Not bad, for the price of almost free. ( I had everything on hand, including the screws and paint etc., needed to make this table.)
One final before and after;
